Learn fire code to ensure fire proof your buildings.

Learning Outcomes

  • Have an overview and good understanding of the fire safety act, fire safety legislation & regulations and fire safety provisions in institutional and industrial buildings.
  • Be able to apply what is taught for building works that require fire safety plan submission.

Trainer's Profile

Loh Eng Choon

Loh Eng Choon, has more than 20 years of experience in operational and policy work in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). In the area of fire safety and enforcement, he was responsible for formulating policy to introduce good practices in fire safety and enforcement in Singapore. He is well versed in the Fire Safety Act and Regulation which is the pillar of fire safety in Singapore. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Fire Safety Manager Scheme, Company Emergency Response Team Scheme, Licensing of Petroleum and Flammable Materials, Jurong Island contingency planning, and audit of high-risk installations.

Loh Eng Choon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers and Council Member in the Association. He has devoted his life towards the improvement of fire-life safety in the high-risk industries and areas of public interests. He is also adjunct lecturer in several well-known institutions like University of Social Science, BCA Academy and Ngee Ann Polytechnics and the ITE College.


A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement but did not pass all required assessment(s).

Participants who are certified Fire Safety Managers will be awarded 5 CPD points and Safety Officers registered with SISO will be awarded 15 SDU points.

Course Fees

Course fee is payable upon acceptance. It is inclusive of 7% GST and subject to review.
