Trainer's Profile
Loh Eng Choon, has more than 20 years of experience in operational and policy work in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). In the area of fire safety and enforcement, he was responsible for formulating policy to introduce good practices in fire safety and enforcement in Singapore. He is well versed in the Fire Safety Act and Regulation which is the pillar of fire safety in Singapore. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Fire Safety Manager Scheme, Company Emergency Response Team Scheme, Licensing of Petroleum and Flammable Materials, Jurong Island contingency planning, and audit of high-risk installations.
Loh Eng Choon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers and Council Member in the Association. He has devoted his life towards the improvement of fire-life safety in the high-risk industries and areas of public interests. He is also adjunct lecturer in several well-known institutions like University of Social Science, BCA Academy and Ngee Ann Polytechnics and the ITE College.
