This advanced course is for Professional, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) to pursue a career in marketing, business development & analysis in the wholesale trade sector. You will gain exposure to skills such as digital marketing and management.

Learning Outcomes

Digital Marketing Bootcamp

Through a range of channels across social media, advertisements, search engines, email, and analytics, businesses leverage on digital marketing to generate sales and build brand awareness. The demand for these skills have been increasing in recent years and its adoption have been rapidly accelerated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Facing immediate disruption to their traditional operations, many businesses have shifted online and are in need of properly skilled digital marketers to achieve their organisational goals.

Our Digital Marketing Bootcamp focuses on building a strong foundation in one’s understanding and integrated application of the various channels. Design thinking is briefly explored as a toolkit to help you design marketing strategies around the needs of the user.

Certificate in Applied Management

Lesson Plan

This course consists of 10 modules:

Principles and Techniques of Design

Deep dive into the principles of design, develop an eye for design and understand the importance of design types and their functions. Practice designing with the tools learnt in Module 1 and apply the knowledge learnt in design concept generation.

Market Research Methodologies

Develop an understanding of the target audience, their needs and behaviors, and understand how to manage a brand to build customer loyalty and trust.

Combining Design with Content

Learn how to translate market insights (Module 3) into effective content copy that complements your design (Module 2) and have your campaign stand out.

Campaigns and Project Management

Apply technical knowledge to a marketing campaign, and work with real-life constraints such as finite time and budget. Learn how to ask the right questions to design effective campaigns for clients. Establish focused objectives to achieve KPIs with clients and colleagues.

Capstone Project

Work with a real-life client to develop a full marketing campaign to address the client’s problem statement. The problem statement will require application of skills learnt across Modules 1 to 4.

Communicative Competence for Success in the Future Workplace

The future workplace is characterised by the growing proliferation of information and the interaction of people and ideas across boundaries. This results in the increasing importance of the ability to communicate effectively across social, cultural and cyberspaces. This module aims to equip students with the communicative confidence required to increase their effectiveness in this Diploma course, as well as in the workplace. They will hone their oral and written communication skills so as to communicate with greater impact in the changing landscape of the future workplace.

Sense making in a Data-driven Era

This module covers the use of numeracy for problem solving and how to make sense of data in this data-driven age. Students will develop the computation skills essential for effective problem solving and analysis using mathematics and data analytical tools. They will be equipped to handle numerical and data reports, develop thinking, reasoning and modelling skills through mathematical approaches in the context of workplace scenarios and related disciplines.

Design Thinking

Transforming Corporate Problem Solving: This module aims to help students discover and hone their innate ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions for the workplace. Underpinned by the Design Thinking framework, students will be sensitised to the process of user-centric problem solving. They will be introduced to concepts such as empathy, problem-definition, ideation, prototyping and testing through a practical approach featuring engaging out-of-classroom activities, just-in-time master-classes and a hands-on, “learning by doing” delivery format.

Essential Digital Skills for the Future Workplace

This module provides an overview of collaborative tools which are essential for successful online business operations. It covers digital marketing, data analytics and online collaboration. This module is offered in collaboration with ICDL Asia.

Managing New Workforce Diversity- Cultural Intelligence in Action

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is the ability to function effectively in a variety of cultural contexts. CQ is a critical capability in today’s multi-cultural global business environment. In this module, students will be sensitized to recognize and understand how cultural differences influence behavior. They will gain exposure to the varying perspectives that different cultures have towards work, relationships, time and communication. In addition, they will learn different strategies for adaptation and bridging the gap. The takeaway is the ability to cope with varied organizational environments and a mind-set ready to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Certification

Certificate will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass assessments.


Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:
  1. The following GCE ‘O’ Level grades and with at least 3 years of relevant work experience:
    • English Language (Grade 1-6)
    • Mathematics (Grade 1-6)
    • One other Subject (Grade 1-6)
  2. NITEC with GPA >= 3.5 with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  3. Higher NITEC with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  4. NITEC in Technology or Services with GPA >= 3.5 and with at least 2 years of relevant working experience
  5. Higher NITEC in Technology or Services with at least 1 year of relevant working experience
  6. Relevant WSQ Diploma qualifications (depending on sector, Programme & level) with at least 3 years of relevant working experience and WPLN (Level>= 6) may be accepted as ‘O’ Level equivalent English Language & Mathematics requirements.
  7. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

Course Fees

Course fee is payable upon acceptance. It is inclusive of 7% GST and subject to review.

Trainees must fulfil minimum attendance requirements and pass assessments to qualify for course fee subsidies. Trainees who are unable to meet these requirements may be asked to return the course fee subsidies that they have received.
