The world climate today has inspired change within many industries including the maritime sector. To meet the demands of this growth industry, the need for Marine and Offshore Technology specialists with the ability to put forth forward-thinking strategies has never been greater.

Learning Outcomes

Help propel the maritime industry to greater depths with the best theoretical and practical tools regarding marine instrumentation, control systems and marine design. Hone your skills in electronics and mechanics and learn to perform calculations of basic parameters related to the geometry and stability of ships according to the International Maritime Organization (IMO). What’s more, you will gain an invaluable overview of the offshore oil and gas industry to give you a head start in your career.

Lesson Plan

Certificate in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
Fundamentals of Marine Engineering
Provides basic understanding of marine machinery and fundamental knowledge of marine main propulsion system, alternators and steering gears.
Fundamentals of Naval Architecture
Introduces fundamentals of main compartments and the structural components of ships. It also covers calculations related to geometry of ships.
Certificate in Offshore Technology
Fundamentals of Marine Offshore Design
Provides basic knowledge and understanding of intact stability and trim of a ship and calculations on stability of ships according to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
Fundamentals of Offshore Oil & Gas Technology
Provides a broad overview of the offshore oil and gas industry in the ASEAN region and other parts of the world.
Fundamentals of Offshore Engineering
Provides understanding of the design considerations for offshore structures. It also provides participants the opportunities to explore the structural analysis of offshore platforms.

SkillsFuture Credit
This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Credit.

All Singaporeans aged 25 years and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay f​or a wide range of courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies/funding. This is only applicable for self-sponsored applicants and must be applied via the SkillsFuture Portal.
