Lesson Plan

Data Entry in High Volume

For a Computer Centric Data Entry process which is a repeatable task, involving
operations such as reading the data from an excel file row by row and keying in the
information into a particular application (SAP, CRM, WebForms etc..), RPA can be used to automate that process.

Report Processing

Often the data from an application is exported to Excel. The data in that excel file is then read and manipulated to put in formulas and other business logic. RPA can be used read the particular file and put in the formulas and logic to complete the report. As an add on, RPA can even email the report to relevant personnel after the task is done.

Navigating an Inside Application

The ordering process can involve many steps like keying in the information into the Application (SAP, WEB based application etc). It may involve clicking different tabs and performing certain tasks. All these manual tasks can be automated using RPA.

Sending Mass Emails

Repeated mass communications that involve sending emails on a regular basis can be time consuming and manual. Use RPA to automate this task.

Download Email Attachments and Save the File

In scenarios where you need to download certain files from the email and store it in a folder, you can use RPA to automate the task of checking the email and downloading the file into a particular folder. You can extend the scenario to read only those emails with specific subject heading.

Using OCR and Image Automation

Read a scanned image of an invoice and store the extracted data in a .CSV file. Screen scraping and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technologies enable data extraction from almost any format, reducing the need for keying in data.

Extract Data from an Application

This data extraction is useful in scenarios where you need to extract the relevant data one by one from your application for a repeated number of times. The extracted data is then put into a table format so that it can be saved to an Excel file later.
