Course Information

Pick up hands-on skills on how to create professional yet cost-effective branding videos that connect with your target audiences. A smartphone with a high-end camera is all you need.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the landscape of social media and branded content
  • Recognise how you can translate your branding / campaign messages into videos that speak to your audience
  • Learn how to produce professional videos in-house without breaking the bank, while maximising your production quality
  • Pick up tips on pre-production: Ideation, storyboarding and planning of an effective branding video
  • Learn the ropes of production: Hands-on filming, executing filmmaking techniques by using the camera, and lighting & sound
  • Finesse your work with post-production: Learn the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro and transform your footage into the branding video that you have always wanted

Trainer's Profile

Michael Kam

Michael Kam, Senior Lecturer / Filmmaker

A seasoned film director, writer and producer, Michael Kam is a Senior Lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film & Media Studies. He had previously chaired the School’s Diploma in Film, Sound and Video programme for full-time students before pivoting his focus towards courses for adult learners under the Continuing Education and Training (CET) banner.

An avid short filmmaker, Michael's works have travelled to numerous international film festivals, such as Berlin, Uppsala, Cork, Palm Springs, Encounters and Curta Cinema, among others. His films have received festival accolades such as the Best Fiction award at Tampere, the ARTE short film award at Hamburg and the Best Director award in Singapore.

Michael has served as mentor and judge in ciNE65, and as a juror at the National Youth Film Awards.

Certification

Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass assessments.

All are welcome. No prior knowledge or experience in video production needed.
