Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to follow the organizational Workplace Safety and health (WSH) policies and guidelines at workplaces where persons involved in the provision of environmental services are engaged, including:

  • Organisational reporting procedures for WSH related matters
  • Common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry WSH risk control measures

  • Importance of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) & WSH practices to prevent accidents or minimise risks

Note: Learning activities will include group discussions and presentations, case studies, and roleplay activities.

 

Trainer's Profile

Eng Boon Hwee

Mr Eng Boon Hwee holds a degree in Mathematics with Diploma in Economics and a Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering. He is currently the technical manager where he is responsible for the operation of at least 45 teaching and research facilities in School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology (LSCT).

His portfolio in LSCT includes a member of the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Coordinator. He is also the secretariat member of Environment Management-Sector Coordination Team (EM-SCT) that coordinates the effort of all Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) in developing relevant programmes under the Skills Framework of Environmental Services.

Mr Eng was awarded the NEA EcoFriend Award under the Public Sector Category in 2016.

Certification

A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).


A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement but did not pass all required assessment(s).

Funding period for this course is from 1 Jul 2020 to 30 Sep 2024.
