Course Objectives

On completion of the module, the students should be able to:
1. demonstrate clinical competence through the number of patients seen and techniques performed;
2. interpret and integrate the results of advanced diagnostic tests and clinical presentation to suggest a probable diagnosis and develop a management plan; and
3. apply effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.

Course Description

Clinical Practicum in Community Optometry - Part of Post Diploma Certificate in Community Optometric Practice (SDCO) is a 60 hrs module. This module allows students to put their clinical skills into practice in a real-world setting and conduct eye examination on patients from different age groups in the community. The students will gain first-hand experience in prescribing optical corrections and managing ocular disorders.
