About Course

Course Objectives

On completion of the module, the students should be able to:
advanced knowledge and skills in assessing and detecting common eye diseases in the community;
relate the impact of common systemic diseases on patient’s overall well-being and ocular health;
interpret the results of advanced diagnostic tests;
develop the most appropriate management plan through information integration (such as patient presentation, clinical test results); and
communicate effectively (written and oral) with patients and healthcare professionals.

Course Description

Ocular & Systemic Diseases - Part of Post Diploma Certificate in Ocular Health (SDCO) is a 75 hrs module. This module builds upon students’ prior knowledge of ocular and systemic diseases. They will learn to effectively assess, detect, and manage ocular disorders in a community setting. Students will also learn and understand the relationship between common systemic diseases and patients’ overall well-being and ocular health.
