About Course
Course Objectives
The Virtual Production (VP) course provides participants with a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of VP concepts, workflows, and industry practices. The course covers key methodologies and applications including in-camera visual effects (ICVFX), virtual cinematography, real-time rendering concepts, and virtual set design principles.Participants will gain guided exposure to industry-standard VP tools and environments, such as Unreal Engine, Disguise, and XR studio setups, to understand how real-time systems are used in professional VP pipelines. Through facilitated demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and immersive studio-based learning, participants will develop a practical understanding of how VP is planned, executed, and applied across film, media, and live production contexts.
Course Description
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:1. Master Virtual Production (VP) Fundamentals
Gain a deep understanding of key concepts, technologies, and end-to-end workflows shaping VP.
2. Familiarise with Industry-Standard VP Tools
Gain guided exposure and understanding of VP tools such as Unreal Engine, Disguise, and XR studio systems to understand their roles in real-time rendering and in-camera visual effects (ICVFX).
3. Enhance Virtual Cinematography Skills
Learn how virtual cameras are planned and operated within VP environments, including camera tracking, shot planning, and the integration of real-time elements with live-action filmmaking.
4. Navigate Immersive Virtual Sets and 3D Assets in VP
Learn the fundamentals of how 3D assets are structured, prepared, and utilised within virtual production pipelines, including considerations such as scale, performance, lighting interaction, and visual fidelity.
5. In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX)
Learn how Computer-generated imagery (CGI), real-time environments, and interactive elements are combined within LED volumes to enhance storytelling and production quality.
6. Familiarise VP Production Workflows
Master best practices for planning, executing, and managing VP projects efficiently from pre-production to post-production.
7. Collaborate in Multidisciplinary VP Teams
Understand the roles and collaboration processes between directors, cinematographers, VFX artists, technical operators, and production teams within VP-driven productions.
8. Industry Case Studies for VP
Analyse real-world applications across film, television, gaming, and live events, and implement best practices in production.

Refund and withdrawal policy
- Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.
Remarks
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.
Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.
SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
