About Course

Course Objectives

This course is designed to train participants in various fire safety requirements and measures to enable them to undertake the role of a Fire Safety Manager. At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
•   Explain the importance of fire safety and fire safety regulations
•   Demonstrate the operation and maintenance of various fire protection systems, equipment and fire-fighting facilities
•   Use digital technologies and smart automation related to facility fire monitoring, operations and maintenance to optimise the fire-fighting efficiency and performance
•   Understand the roles and responsibilities of fire safety managers

The increasing complexity of modern building structures has also heightened the complexity of managing fire risks.

The role of a Fire Safety Manager now comes with added challenges in ensuring fire safety standards within buildings for the protection of occupants as well as important assets.
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learner who achieve at least 80% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

  • English Language (Minimum Grade D7)
  • Mathematics (Minimum Grade C6)
  • Physics/Physical Science/General Science (Minimum Grade C6)
ITEITE Higher NITEC or Industrial Technician Certificate (ITC)

GCE ‘A’ LevelsFull GCE ‘A’ Level Certificate (minimum of 2 ‘H2’ and 2 ‘H1’ Level passes including General Paper)

Diploma•   Diploma (excluding Specialist Diploma) from local polytechnics and training institution (NP, NYP, RP, SP, TP or BCA Academy)
•   SIM Diploma in Management Studies

DegreeDegree from local universities (NTU, NUS, SMU, UniSIM/ SUSS)

Professional Qualification and Other Diploma; Professional/industry certificatesProfessional Qualification or Professional/industry certificates
  • MOM Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer Certificate (Graduate/ Specialist Diploma)
  • FSMAS Certificate in Fire Safety & Emergency Management Course and 5 GCE O level pass in any subject.

WPLN + GCE ‘O’ Levels•   British Council's International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum band score of 5.5;
OR
•   Proficiency level 6 for all Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN);

Refund and withdrawal policy

  • Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.

Remarks

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) can only be used to cover:
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.

Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/ no show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail the assessment

SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
