Course Information

To provide an introduction to decarbonisation, basic processes in the production of hydrogen and ammonia, applications and containment of hydrogen and ammonia.  Energy storage and smart grid will also be covered.

Learning Outcomes

To provide an introduction for anyone who are not from a clean energy background so that they can have an understanding of decarbonisation, some basics processes and application of principles in the production of clean energy. This enable them to communicate with the domain experts in the clean energy industry.

Trainer's Profile

Jasmine Lam

Jasmine Lam holds a PhD and a MSc degree from University of Antwerp, Belgium and a BSc degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is Director of Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence, NTU Singapore and holds prestigious international appointments like expert advisor and conference chair. She works closely with the industry and completed over 65 maritime projects with many countries. 

Shawn Chew

Shawn Chew holds a Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Power Engineering) from Singapore Institute of Technology. He is currently Deputy Chief Expert of Worldskills Singapore’s Industrial Control. Prior to his current appointment as senior engineer, he was extensively involved in distribution power cable renewal projects and lectures power related modules e.g. Robotics & Automation, Power System Technology and Distributed System Design.

Wong Yew Loong

Wong Yew Loong has a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical & Environment Engineering) and a Master of Engineering (Safety, Health & Environmental) from the National University of Singapore.  He was previously working at the Ministry of Environment & Water Resources and National Environment Agency.  He is currently a Senior Lecturer and a CET trainer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic on subjects related to industrial chemical processes, plant design and process control, environmental technology and workplace safety.

Certification

A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).


A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement but did not pass all required assessment(s).


Entry Requirements

A recognized local polytechnic diploma or a degree in any engineering discipline.

Course Fees

Funding period for this course is from 15 Nov 2021 to 30 Sep 2024.

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) holders, please furnish the following documents to the course administrator to qualify for SSG funding:
Self-sponsored learner (**LTVP+): Copy of your green visit pass card, with the word ‘PLUS’ on the back of the card.
Co-sponsored learner (##LTVP+): Copy of valid and current Letter of Consent (LOC) from MOM

GST Increment in 2024
