Course Objectives

Participants will also learn about fuel injection, emission control and engine management, including in systematic fault-finding using mechanical and electrical approaches.

Trainer's profile

Steven Xu is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) from South China University of Technology and an Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He has certification as an Adult Educator (ACTA) from the Institute of Adult Learning, Singapore. 

Before joining Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Steven Xu worked in Cycle & Carriage, Daimler South East Asia, Indeco Engineers, during these periods, he gained the workshop management knowledge and the advanced automotive technologies, which included automotive systems, design, fabrication and diagnosis.  

As a Senior Lecturer of the School of Engineering, Steven Xu contributed in various topics for the full time students such as automotive technology, electrical technology, engineering system design, mechanical design. Besides his fulltime courses, he also worked closely with the industry and government agencies. He worked with Singapore Standards Council, Singapore Motor Workshop Association (SMWA), and other industry partners to develop a Singapore Standard on Motor Workshop SS662:2020. He was in the Technical Expert Panel for Certification for Technical Specialist (Bus) organized by LTA and IES, he is one of the assessors for the bus technician certification.  

He is the member of IES Automotive Technology & Standards Working Group, the member of the IES EV Maintenance Sector Taskforce and member of AQAC Land Transport Automotive Bus. 

 Steven Xu has developed and conducted the following short courses:

GST rate

The course fees payable above are inclusive of 9% GST rate.

The course fee allows to be paid by:

PayNow (e-payment).

Refund and withdrawal policy

  • Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.

Remarks

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) can only be used to cover:
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.

Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.

SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
