Course Objectives
The course will allow learners to understand and apply the principles and requirements for establishing, monitoring, reporting and managing organization/company-level Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14064 series of standards. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology is embedded into the course to complement climate transition planning and implementation. Learners will apply concepts in case studies, group exercises and discussions. The learner will prepare a GHG inventory, prioritise decarbonization projects and perform calculations to support project-based decision-making. Individual learners will then develop a climate transition plan.Course Description
Upon completion of the course, the learners will be able to:1) Apply principles and requirements for establishing, monitoring and reporting organization/ company-level Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14064 series of standards.
2) Perform calculations to support project-based decision-making in their decarbonization journey and manage their GHG inventory.
3) Apply the fundamental concepts of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), including LCA procedures, requirements, and relevant standards.
4) Apply LCA results to enhance product environmental performance.
