Course Objectives
•  Understand the Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA) and its application within the Environmental Sanitation framework.•  Understand the importance of the Environmental Sanitation Regime and the roles of key stakeholders
•  Define the roles and responsibilities of Environmental Control Coordinators (ECCs).
•  Integrate best practices for indoor air quality control within the Environmental Sanitation framework.
•  Explore key concepts in infectious disease control, focusing on strategies for infection prevention.
•  Develop in-depth knowledge in general cleaning and disinfection practices.
•  Design and implement an efficient pest management system
•  Develop and oversee the implementation of an Environmental Sanitation Programme as ECCs.
Course Description
The Environmental Control Coordinator Course prepares participants to establish and maintain comprehensive sanitation programs that meet regulatory standards across various premises. The course equips participants with the knowledge needed for effective infection control & prevention measures, indoor air quality management, and cleanliness & contamination control. Participants will also learn to implement pest control & monitoring and conduct cleaning validation procedures to maintain high hygiene standards, particularly in sensitive areas such as eldercare & childcare facilities and food shop hygiene maintenance. The course also covers the development and implementation of environmental sanitation regimes tailored to specific settings, ensuring the safety and well-being of occupants.Upon successful completion of the course, the participant can apply to NEA to be licensed as an Environmental Control Coordinator (ECC).
This course forms part of the (SCTP Module) Security and Environmental Management leading to the (SCTP) Smart and Sustainable Facilities Management (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning) (Full-Time) (TA-eligible).
