About Course
Course Objectives
This module delves into the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in spatial design, offering an in-depth exploration of how AI tools and techniques can revolutionize the design process. Learners will explore the various AI technologies applicable to spatial design, understanding their capabilities and implications. The course emphasizes how AI can enhance design efficiency, foster innovation, and solve complex design challenges. Through practical applications and analysis of real-world case studies, students will learn to integrate AI effectively into their design workflows, gaining valuable skills to leverage AI for improved design outcomes and cutting-edge solutions in spatial design.The Gen AI in Spatial Design course is jointly offered by NP’s School of Design & Environment (DE) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts University of the Arts Singapore. This collaboration brings together DE's strengths in spatial technologies and NAFA's creative design expertise, offering participants a unique, interdisciplinary learning experience. As a valued collaborator, NAFA co-develops and supports the course to equip learners with cutting-edge AI design skills tailored for the built environment.
Course Description
Objectives:1. Gain a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its core principles.
2.Examine AI techniques used in designing spatial environments while learning about the different types of AI technologies relevant to spatial design.
3. Develop skills to effectively integrate AI technology into design projects.
4. Understand best practices for leveraging AI to enhance design outcomes.
Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate a clear understanding of key AI concepts and technologies relevant to spatial design.
2. Apply AI tools and techniques to create and refine spatial design projects.
3. Produce design solutions that integrate AI effectively, showcasing the ability to blend technology with creativity.
4. Identify and articulate the benefits and challenges associated with AI applications in spatial design.

Refund and withdrawal policy
- Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.
Remarks
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.
Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.
SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
