About Course
Course Objectives
This course covers the competencies to understand the effects of hazardous substances on the body, identify the sources of hazardous substances and to implement the control measures to manage the risks associated with them. It will also cover the detailed operations of Gas Chromatography, data analysis and method validation and troubleshooting. Students are introduced to key aspects of environmental and water chemistry and air quality monitoring for application in pollution control, resource recovery and water and wastewater treatment.Course Description

Post-Diploma Certificate in Environmental & Chemical Analyses
Topics covered will include GHS system, safety datasheets, risk assessment and management, chemical hazard communication, PPE, engineering control, and chemical management systems.
Chromatography from method development (oven temperature, headspace, calibration, optimization, derivatization), data analysis (internal and external standards, normalization) to method validation and troubleshooting. The selection, maintenance and optimization of detectors (TCP, FlO, etc) will be covered too.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness.
Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
