About Course

Course Objectives

The capstone project aims to create and implement a data governance framework to ensure data quality, security, compliance and accessibility within an organization. As data grows in complexity, the absence of proper governance can lead to issues like data breaches and poor decision making. The project involved assessing current data practice, developing a tailored framework, selecting appropriate tools, and training staff. The implemented framework should improve data management, security and compliance, providing a structured approach that aligns with industry standards.

Course Description

The Capstone Project should demonstrate the depth and extent of knowledge of students. During this course, students will:
-Investigate and evaluate prominent literature connected to their CP;
-Apply the knowledge and skills acquired from program to a real-world problem or research question.
-Develop and demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills by conducting thorough research and analysis.
-Address a specific problem or challenge within chosen area, proposing and evaluating potential solutions.
-Demonstrate student's ability to plan, organize, and manage a significant project from start to finish.

The capstone project aims to create and implement a data governance framework to ensure data quality, security, compliance and accessibility within an organization. As data grows in complexity, the absence of proper governance can lead to issues like data breaches and poor decision making. The project involved assessing current data practice, developing a tailored framework, selecting appropriate tools, and training staff. The implemented framework should improve data management, security and compliance, providing a structured approach that aligns with industry standards.
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learner who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to learner who meet the 75% attendance requirement.

Entry Requirements

Condition 1

Highest qualification

Possess a minimum Diploma in IT/Computer Science, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business-related disciplines.

Condition 2

Working experience

Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, with demonstrated proficiency in foundational digital literacy, an understanding of basic IT infrastructure and data concepts, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills within an operational or business context. Proficiency in English (written, spoken, reading, and listening) to effectively comprehend complex regulatory and technical course materials, engage in discussions, and communicate findings.

Refund and withdrawal policy

  • Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.

Remarks

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) can only be used to cover:
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.

Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.

SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
