About Course

Course Objectives

This course will help learners to pick up Smart and Sustainable Facilities Management skills which are essential skills listed in the Facilities Management Job Transformation Map. These are essential skills to help the FM industry digitalisation and automation drives.

Targeting at mid-career individuals to help learners to re-skill so that they can join the facilities management industry.

Course Description

This course seeks to help learners to develop knowledge and skills in mechanical and electrical services operations as well as apply green and sustainability initiatives toward the management of facilities and buildings.

Learners will also develop knowledge and skills in the management of security, business continuity, fire safety and workplace safety & health.

The modules taught in this course are stackable into our Diploma (Conversion) in Facilities Management and the Diploma in Engineering (Building Services and Fire Safety).

(SCTP Module) Building Services (Electrical) (NP-CTSSFM2BSE-FAS)
Learners will learn the principles behind the installation, operation and maintenance of facilities and buildings electrical services such as electricity supply and circuits. Learners will also learn about the deregulation of energy markets and its impact to the operation of electrical and communication systems.
(SCTP Module) Building Services (Mechanical) (NP-CTSSFM1BSM-FAS)
Learners will learn the principles behind the installation, operation and maintenance of facilities and buildings mechanical services such as air-conditioning, mechanical ventilation, fire protection, water supply and sanitary system.
(SCTP Module) Fire and WSH Management (NP-CTSSFM5FWH-F)
After completing this module, learners will gain the knowledge and skills to assist the Fire Safety Manager. Learners will learn the requirements of the fire safety regulations in the management of fire safety activities and preventive measures. This will enable the promotion of fire safety awareness among building occupants and ensure that the fire safety measures in facilities and buildings are manage well. In view of the importance of Workplace Safety & Health Management, learners will be taught how to do risk management to ensure the safety of the facilities’ users, vendors and suppliers.
(SCTP Module) Green Building Technologies (NP-CTSSFM3GBT-FAS)
The application of sustainable and green building design and technologies in the built environment will be taught in this module. After completing the module, learners will be able to improve building management systems performance and energy efficiency.
(SCTP Module) Security and Environmental Management (NP-CTSSFM4SEM-FAS)
This module provides learners with comprehensive knowledge to effectively identify and manage security risks, ensure business continuity, and address workplace safety and health hazards. Additionally, participants will develop essential skills in planning and implementing a broad spectrum of environmental measures, including cleaning and disinfection, pest control, waste management, and other critical environmental practices. These competencies align with the baseline environmental sanitation standards required for maintaining their premises.
This SCTP is only offered as a bundle of 5 modules, hence learners must complete and pass all 5 modules in order to be awarded the Certificate of Completion in (SCTP) Smart and Sustainable Facilities Management (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning) (Full-Time) (TA-eligible):

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) can only be used to cover:
