Course Information
This 1-day Coaching in the Dark programme is a fast-track course for participants who would like to be effective workplace coaches by learning to use coaching methods to attain optimum job performance. This course is in collaboration with Dialogue in the Dark Singapore.

- Overview of Workplace Learning
- Importance of workplace coaching and benefits to the individual and the organization
- How to conduct workplace coaching by applying key communication skills in a supportive learning environment
- How to use a workplace coaching plan to identify areas for coaching and improvements in job performance
Lesson Plan
COACHING IN THE LIGHT (AM SESSION)
- Introduction to Workplace Coaching
- Importance of workplace coaching and benefits to the individual and the organization
- Elements of a Workplace Coaching Plan
- Key communication skills of an effective coach: EQACER approach (Effective Communication, Questioning Skills, Active Listening, Constructive Feedback, Empathy and non-judgement, Rapport Building)
- Conducting workplace coaching: SBI-ACTION approach (Situation, Behaviour, Impact)
- Managing challenges in coaching
COACHING IN THE DARK (PM SESSION)
- Workshop activities are conducted in the dark – in collaboration with Dialogue in the Dark Singapore (DiDsg)
- Workshop activities reinforce the key elements of an effective coach (such as listening skills, communication skills, empathy, trust, and coach-coachee rapport building)
Assessment: Class participation and presentations
Certification
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learner who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to learner who meet the 75% attendance requirement.
Entry Requirements
No prior knowledge is required.
Course Fees
Funding period for this course is from 08 July 2024 to 31 May 2027.
SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) holders, please furnish the following documents to the course administrator to qualify for SSG funding:
Self-sponsored learner (**LTVP+): Copy of your green visit pass card, with the word ‘PLUS’ on the back of the card.
Co-sponsored learner (##LTVP+): Copy of valid and current Letter of Consent (LOC) from MOM
GST Increment in 2024
Please note that the GST rate will be revised to 9% with effect from 1 Jan 2024, as such any payable course fees will be subjected to the new GST rate adjustments in 2024. Please refer to our STEP portal for the updated fees. (Click on STEP)
