Course Information
This short course covers the theory and techniques for creating effective visualisations based on graphic design. Learners will apply these principles and techniques to create rich visualisations for analysis and presentation using widely popular tools e.g. Tableau.
Learning Outcomes
• Define data visualisation and its role in data analytics;
• Understand the various types and components of data visualisation;
• Explain and implement the principles of data visualisation;
• Develop graphs, charts and interactive visuals using enterprise tools;
• Develop maps to perform geospatial analysis;
• Apply the principles and techniques of data visualisation to solve real world problems.

Trainer's Profile
Kee Chuah has a wealth of expertise in Data Analytics, Banking, and Finance. With over a decade of teaching experience, Kee Chuah currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Life, where he passionately imparts knowledge in data analytics, data visualisation, and banking & finance modules.
Prior to his career in academia, Kee Chuah amassed over ten years of industry experience, honing his skills in esteemed Big 4 accounting firms and the banking sector across the USA, China, and Singapore. His extensive practical exposure enriches his teaching, providing learners with valuable insights into real-world applications.
Kee Chuah holds a Master of Science in Banking and Finance with distinction from the London School of Economics, underscoring his academic excellence and deep understanding of financial principles. Complementing his master's degree, he obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), solidifying his foundation in accounting principles.
Additionally, Kee Chuah is a certified non-practising CPA, demonstrating his commitment to professional standards in accounting. He further enhances his teaching capabilities through certifications in adult education – ACTA - and Design and Assessment of Adult Learning (DACE), ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience for his students.
With a passion for both education and industry practice, Kee Chuah bridges the gap between theory and application, preparing learners for success in the dynamic fields of data analytics, banking, and finance. His dedication to excellence and comprehensive understanding of the subject matter makes him a valuable asset to both his students and the academic community.

You are required to have working knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Students are required to bring their own laptop.
