Provides knowledge to the basics architecture and building blocks of an Internet of Things (IoT) system. It helps to gain insight into IoT concepts, including Industrial IoT and its role in Industrial 4.0.
Quality Systems & Data Analytics
Provides the necessary knowledge and skills to apply quality system management principles, statistical data analysis techniques, quality improvement tools, manufacturing management concepts in their workplace.
Project Management in Digitalization
Provides an understanding of the various aspects of project management procedures, equips various project management tools and techniques.

Mechanical Design
Provides knowledge on how to design, analyse, and select mechanical systems components used in machine and system design.
Structural Strength Design

Computer Aided Engineering Drafting
Provides fundamental training in the principles and practices of the international graphic language for engineering that is based on the International Standard Organization (ISO) and the Singapore Standards (SS) guidelines.
Computer Aided 3D Design
Trains you in applying the drafting concepts and modeling techniques to develop product models in the design process. Covers the principles and capabilities of CAD through 3D solid modeling of engineering components and assembly.
Manufacturing Technologies
Provides basic knowledge on conventional and unconventional processes used to support manufacturing industries. Covers principles and application on conventional machining process and fundamental concepts of manufacturing systems and automation strategies to achieve high-value products and services.

Imparts the fundamental concepts of industrial hydraulic applications to be implemented in automation and process industries.
Industrial Automation
Introduces hard-wired and programmable types of automation solutions, their applications in sequential control systems and low-cost automation.

Provides the essential knowledge on the various types of control components, the operation of feedback control systems, effects of controller setting on system performance and stability.

PV Cell and Module
Provides the knowledge from light to semiconductor, photovoltaic (PV) cell/module design, its characterization, IEC standards, PV module specifications and performance.
PV System Design & Integration
Provides the knowledge to the various components and functionalities of a PV system formation. It also provides the guidelines for the selection and sizing of these constituents to allow their proper compatibility to operate as an integrated system.

AI for Manufacturing Engineer
Provides the knowledge to supervised and unsupervised machine learning models in advanced manufacturing applications. Practical Artificial Intelligence (Al) models with machine learning algorithms are used for industrial anomaly detection and predictive maintenance.
Data Handling and Information Visualisation
Provides insight into data importing, cleaning, interpreting and visualizing. By means of Tableau software, it equips learners with technical skills to manage and analyse real world large datasets and present the results in visually understandable way.
Machine Learning Systems for Engineers
Provides knowledge to learners in applying AI techniques to the field datasets for accurate solutions. It provides insight into basics of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and deep learning.

You are required to complete 5 modular certificates within 5-year validity period to be awarded the Diploma qualification.

Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:

The following GCE ‘O’ Level grades and with at least 1 year of relevant work experience:
– English Language (Grade 1-7)
– Mathematics (Grade 1-6)
– Science (Grade 1-6)

OR NITEC with GPA >= 3.5
OR NITEC with GPA >= 3.0 and with at least 1 year of relevant work experience

OR Higher NITEC with GPA >= 2.0
OR Higher NITEC with GPA >= 1.5 and with at least 1 year of relevant work experience

OR NITEC in Technology or Services with GPA >= 3.5 and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience
OR Higher NITEC in Technology or Services with GPA >=2.0 and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience

OR relevant Advanced WSQ Certificate (or higher) and Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience

OR applicants with at least 2 years of relevant working experience may apply for the course

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
