Rethink, Reimagine & Redesign Financial Services with FinTech.

In recent years, there has been wide acknowledgement of the benefits and value Fintech such as A.I, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain and Machine Learning can bring to financial institutions and consumers. The increased adoption of Fintech by banks in the B2B space and by consumers in the B2C space has fuelled the business growth for Fintech companies and also led to increased investments in Fintech by banks as well as a surge in hiring for Fintech talents.

As Fintech slowly gain prominence in recent years, it has also sparked the interest of other non-financial industries to adopt these technologies to boost business productivity and efficiency. Driven by the merits and value that Fintech can bring to the organisation, many businesses have started to embrace and invest in Fintech.

In this highly interactive session, participants are empowered with fundamental knowledge of these emerging technologies and their use cases in the industry today. Through practical case studies, participants will deepen their understanding of Fintech as they critically evaluate the use cases of these emerging technologies and learn how they have contributed to business processes and customer engagement.

Trainer's Profile

Bernard Soo

Bernard has close to 20 years of professional experience in the Banking and Wealth Management Industry of which 7 years was in the frontline serving High-Networth Individual across the region and more than 10 years in management designing wealth propositions and equities product management.

During his stint at Standard Chartered Bank, Bernard was Head of Wealth Proposition in charge of designing various propositions ranging from retirement planning, children's education, and legacy planning to accredited investors propositions for High Networth Individuals. In addition, Bernard was also Head of the Online Equities Trading platform, in charge of product management, business strategy and management of the online equities business. In UOB, Bernard was Head of Digital Wealth Proposition and also the Product Owner of UOB Roboadviser, Simple Invest and Simple Insure, and also the Business Lead representing UOB in the MAS-driven Open Banking initiative.

Bernard is currently an Executive Committee Member in the Singapore Fintech Association, Executive Partner of Momenta Group and Managing Director of Emmet Insight. He has more than 2 years of experience in Fintech providing consultation, training and product development. With the vision to democratize finance and revolutionize wealth management, Bernard has developed robo-adviser, legacy planning platform and worked on De-Fi and Ce-Fi digital exchanges projects to empower retail, accredited and institutional investors.

Clement Ng

Clement is currently a lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). His specialisation is in banking operations from the Custody Business. Prior to joining the education industry, he had more than 10 years of professional experience starting off from back-office operations to front-end client-facing. His last role was with The Bank of New York Mellon as an Account Manager in Global Collateral Services, specialising in Global Collateral Management, Derivatives Margin Management and Prime Custody.

During his time with the banking industry, he witnessed the changes taking place in the banking sector, particularly in the technology revolution within legacy banking systems and the disruption by the fintech companies.

Clement is also the Student Development Manager with the School of Business & Accountancy, NP. He has 7 years of experience in tertiary education, overseeing student clubs including Fintech Club where he actively develops students in the area of fintech technologies. During his time as an educator, he also worked for STACS, a Singapore fintech firm focusing on blockchain solutions for a short period of time. He advised the company on capital markets and how their solution can be further improved to resolve industry needs.

Clement graduated with a Master of Business (Applied Finance) from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Banking and Finance from the University of London.

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass assessments
