About Course

Course Objectives

This course is to train learners to assist in the provision of a safe, challenging, positive and developmentally appropriate physical environment for the learning and development of 7 to 14 years old students. The focus is on the holistic development of this age group of students and learners are taught to assist in the identification of strengths and areas of development requiring attention. Learners will create a supportive human environment and assist in the implementation of programmes that promote students’ physical, social-emotional and language development. Awareness of and responding to illness, accidents and emergencies will also be included.

Course Description

1. Create challenging and developmentally appropriate environments to support the development of students aged 7 –   14 years
2. Support the physical development of students aged 7 - 14 years
3. Support the social and emotional development of students aged 7 - 14 years
4. Support the language development of students aged 7 - 14 years
5. Support the creative development of students aged 7 - 14 years
6. Support the cognitive development of students aged 7 - 14 years
7. Identify responsibilities under Workplace Safety and Health Act (ESS Workplace Skills Series: Workplace Safety and Health, Element 8.1.1)
8. Assist with infection control and infection prevention
9. Respond to signs of illness and accidents 10.Respond to incidents and emergencies

Refund and withdrawal policy

  • Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
  • Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.

Remarks

Please take note that self-sponsored Singapore Citizen below the age of 21 will not enjoy any government subsidy hence the full course fee of $830 (before GST) shall apply.

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) can only be used to cover:
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.

Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.

SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
