Course Information

Mushrooms have high nutritional and medicinal values. Mushroom business is inexpensive and large quantity of mushrooms can be produced in a small space.

This 3-day mushroom cultivation course introduces on how to grow edible mushrooms at home, and on a commercial scale.

You will learn about culture maintenance, substrate preparation, application of IoT for monitoring & maintenance, pest & disease management, and the business aspect of setting and running a mushroom farm, marketing opportunities and business strategies.

Trainer's Profile

Seahmala Muniandy

Seahmala Muniandy is a lecturer at School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has a Specialist Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology and a degree in Horticultural Science. She has more than 7 years of experience in teaching and 15 years of working experience in landscaping and horticulture maintenance. Seahmala is also a certified practicing Horticulturist (CPH) and holds a WDA Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). She also has skill sets in turf management gained through working on a golf course.

Leong William

Mr William Leong has a great passion for mushroom cultivation. He holds a Deep Mushrooms Cultivation Certificate and a Medicinal Mushroom Cultivation Certificate. He is also the founder of Mushroom World (MW) Academy which is a Singapore-based company primarily engaged in mushroom cultivation and training using advanced containment technology. MW also expanded its operations to Phuket, Thailand where a 17,000 sqft commercial mushroom farm with an annual output of 90-120 tonnes is located.

Certification

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learner who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).


A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to learner who meet the 75% attendance requirement.

Funding period for this course is from 12 Mar 2021 to 30 Sep 2024.

SkillsFuture Credit
