The 32-hour Digital Literacy workshop is designed for learners who are looking to understand the fundamentals of digital transformation and implement strategies for their companies. Topics covered are:

Day 1:

Digital transformation is the process of fostering a digital-first mindset across the organization. Aims to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience, enable data-driven decision-making, and drive innovation.

 

Day 2:

Chiller performance optimization methods with IOT connectivity and expert guidance in advanced Technologies and data analytics to improve operational efficiency to enhance workplace experience towards user journey.

 

Day 3:

Analyses energy usage patterns, identifies areas of inefficiency and helps to optimize energy consumption that improves operational efficiency and streamlines facility management in Predictive maintenance and Asset management.

 

Day 4:

Apply analytics on Large or Small Central Utility Plants and deliver powerful digital tools to cut energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, reduce costs and improve reliability.Net Zero Advisors guides clients toward a sustainable future and assists in reaching their Net Zero goals.

Trainer's Profile

Alagu Sundaram

An Electrical Engineer by training, Mr. Alagu Sundaram has been a full-time lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic since 2009.  He is currently the Course Chair for the Diploma in Hotel and Leisure Facilities Management (HLFM) program.  Besides teaching Electrical Facilities module in this HLFM program, Sundaram has also been teaching Principles of Electrical Engineering module for adult learners in the Diploma of Building and Fire Safety.

Prior to joining the Polytechnic, Mr. Sundaram has worked as a Facilities Manager in Fertilizer and Semiconductor Industries managing Electrical and Mechanical facilities and optimizing their energy consumption.  Mr. Sundaram also obtained the prestigious “Ngee Ann Polytechnical Teaching Award – Excellence” in the year 2023.

Surajit Dhar

Surajit is currently a Senior Trainer at Johnson Controls Singapore and also the Skills Manager for the Queen Bee Program.

Surajit is an Electrical Engineer by training and is a Certified Trainer (ACTA, DACE) with wide industry experience in Business Excellence and Operational Excellence. Surajit also lead projects to identify customers pain points, simplify complex operational problems and define the preferred solution offerings. 

Tan Soon Chye

Senior Mechanical Engineer by training. Mr Tan Soon Chye has been a full-time lecturer with the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) since 2017.

Mr Tan obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the National University of Singapore. He is a Senior Lecturer under the Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management (HLFM) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic where he teaches Sustainable Building Systems, Building Information Modelling and Sustainable Building Technologies. He also manages the Diploma (Conversion) in Facilities Management (DCFM).

His prior work experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Carrier Transicold Pte Ltd (R&D Engineering), Custom Design Engineer at Caterpillar (R&D Engineering) and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Sanmina (Engineering) enables him to relate well to various applications of design in the industry.  Mr Tan is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditional Engineers (ASHRAE).

Jonathan Chua Eng Sin

Jonathon is currently a Trainer at Johnson Controls Singapore for the Queen Bee Programme.

Jonathon is a Certified Trainer (ACLP 2.0) with industry experience in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering in equipment systems. He is involved in semiconductor equipment manufacturing in Gas Distribution Systems and Installation setup at customer sites.
