Course Information

In the business landscape, the ability to tell compelling stories can set you apart from the rest. Storytelling is a powerful tool that can help you connect with clients, build trust, and close deals more effectively. This one-day course aims to enhance your storytelling skills, enabling you to become a more persuasive and engaging communicator. You will learn to craft and deliver stories that resonate with your clients, leave a lasting impression and enhance relationship-building to seed future sales.

Lesson Plan

Topics:

  1. Introduction to Storytelling (1 hour)
  • Welcome and icebreaker activity
  • Understanding the importance of storytelling
  • How effective storytelling can enhance client relationships and boost sales

 

  1. Elements of a Compelling Story (1.5 hours)
  • Identifying key components of a compelling story
  • The role of relatable characters in narratives
  • Discussing relatable problems and emotional arcs

 

  1. Uncovering Your Unique Stories (1.5 hours)
  • Reflecting on personal and professional experiences
  • Group activity: Sharing personal stories
  • Identifying stories that align with your brand and target audience

Lunch Break (1 hour)

  1. Technology in Storytelling (1 hour)
  • Exploring technology tools and platforms in storytelling
  • Case studies: Successful use of virtual tours, video marketing, and social media

 

  1. Strategic Application of Storytelling for Businesses (2 hours)
  • Storytelling in seminars, meetings and presentations
  • Storytelling to showcase business and customer success
  • Group exercises: Crafting stories for real-world scenarios

 

  1. Feedback and Reflection (30 minutes)
  • Peer feedback on storytelling exercises
  • Self-reflection on the lessons learned
  • Q&A and open discussion

 

  1. Action Planning and Course Conclusion (30 minutes)
  • Developing a personalised action plan for the next 90 days
  • Course summary and closing remarks

Note: Breaks and interactive activities will be interspersed throughout the lesson plan to maintain engagement and provide participants with opportunities to practise their storytelling skills.

Certification

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learners who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to learners who meet the 75% attendance requirement.

No prior knowledge is required.

Course Fees

Funding period is from 14 Feb 2024 to 30 Sep 2024.

SkillsFuture Credit
