The Singapore Taxation module covers core principles of Income Tax and Goods and Services Tax, enabling candidates to compute tax liabilities and apply basic tax-planning techniques. The Advanced Financial Reporting module teaches candidates to apply the Conceptual Framework and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, with a focus on hedge accounting. The Assurance module covers assurance engagements, audit procedures, evidence collection, and internal controls assessment. The Financial Management module covers short-term and long-term financial planning, including investments, finance, working capital, and risk management. Lesson Plan
Comprehend the Conceptual Framework and the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and the principles and major technical areas of taxation.
Be able to explain the treatment and disclosure of hedge accounting, demonstrating appropriate professional judgement and know the nature, purpose and scope of assurance engagement.
Learn to manage the finance function of a business using investment appraisal techniques and business valuation models and develop management accounting techniques for planning, control and decision-making.
Lesson Plan
The Industry Practicum encompass 240 hours of On-the-Job Training in accounting, auditing or taxation under the supervision of an approved mentor in an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) over a minimum period of 12 months. You must gain full-time employment with an ATO and fulfil the required practicum training hours and minimum employment period in order to complete the modules.
The Singapore Taxation module covers core principles and technical areas of Income Tax and Goods and Services Tax, enabling candidates to compute tax liabilities, explain calculations, and apply basic tax-planning techniques for individuals and companies.
The Advanced Financial Reporting module builds on Principles of Financial Reporting, teaching candidates to apply the Conceptual Framework and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards to prepare financial statements. Candidates will understand hedge accounting and demonstrate professional judgment in applying standards.
The Assurance module covers assurance engagements for standalone entities, including understanding the entity, planning and performing audit procedures, collecting evidence, and assessing internal controls. Candidates learn to present reports in compliance with Singapore Standards on Auditing and the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
The Financial Management module teaches skills for short-term and long-term financial planning, including investments, finance, dividend decisions, working capital, and risk management. Candidates gain practical knowledge of financial management tools and techniques.
The Accounting for Decision Making module focuses on cost accounting techniques for planning, control, and decision-making, emphasizing the analysis of relevant information for management decisions. Candidates gain practical knowledge of strategic management accounting tools.

Entry Requirements
Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who are within three years of (i) graduation from the Polytechnics or the (ii) Operationally Ready Date for full-time National Servicemen.
Graduates from the following diploma courses are granted two module exemptions i.e. Principles of Financial Reporting & Singapore Taxation.

The Advanced Diploma in Accountancy requires students to sit for the Singapore CA Foundation Program examination to complete the 6 academic modules every June and December.
The candidature and exam registration fees to the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and the course fees charged by NP for the first attempt will be reimbursed by the ATO employer.

Course Fees
Funding period for this course is till 31 Dec 2024.
Companies are to reimburse trainees the annual candidature fees of $107 and the exam fees of $535 per module payable to Singapore Accountancy Commission, which will be paid by trainees first, in addition to course fees charged by NP.
GST Increment in 2024
Please note that the GST rate will be revised to 9% with effect from 1 Jan 2024, as such any payable course fees will be subjected to the new GST rate adjustments in 2024.
