  • The Advanced Diploma in Accountancy requires learners to sit for the Singapore CA Foundation Program examination every June and December.

About Course

Course Objectives

From financial reporting to accounting techniques, this course enables the learner to gain the technical skills and knowledge required to be an accountant, auditor or a finance executive. Learner will learn how to compute tax liabilities, develop business valuation models and perform audit procedures. Upon graduation, the learner may progress to the Singapore CA Qualification to attain the Chartered Accountant of Singapore designation.

Course Description

The Advanced Diploma in Accountancy (ADAC1) is a 1.5 years part-time CET course, consisting of the following modules:
1) Principles of Financial Reporting (40hrs)
2) Singapore Taxation (40hrs)
3)  Assurance (40hrs)
4) Advanced Financial Reporting (40hrs)
5) On-the-Job Training (OJT) 1 (120 hours)
6) Accounting for Decision Making (40hrs)
7) Financial Management (40hrs)
8) On-the-Job Training (OJT) 2 (120 hours)
Trainer Profiles

Alan Ang
Alan holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. He is an alumni of Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Diploma of Accountancy program and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). Alan has more than 20 years of work experience in multinationals organizations in public accounting, logistics, oil and gas and technology device care protection industries including Deloitte, DHL Express and Vopak. He is currently the Finance Director, APAC at Yokohama TWS.

Derrick Kew
Derrick is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accountancy) from the National University of Singapore and a Specialist Diploma in Business Analytics from Temasek Polytechnic. He currently serves as Director, Tax & Advisory at CA Practice PAC, where he oversees tax advisory and compliance engagements across diverse industries. Derrick brings with him deep expertise in corporate and individual income tax, GST, and international tax reporting regimes such as the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) reporting. Prior to this, Derrick was with EY Singapore where he held dual responsibilities in tax advisory and digital transformation. He led several high-impact projects that enhanced client service delivery and internal efficiencies and served as the ASEAN Digital Transformation Lead for EY’s Financial Services Tax practice.

Lim Ai Leen
Ai Leen is a Fellow Member of ISCA and a Member of CPA Australia. She is also a trained counsellor, certified adult educator and course developer. Ai Leen holds a Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Information Systems majors) from Deakin University, both in Australia. With a passion for adult education, Ai Leen designs, develops, and delivers seminars at various institutions of higher learning. She currently serves as an associate faculty member at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and a Trainer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. At these institutions, she teaches a wide range of financial accounting and auditing modules, from foundational to advanced levels. Prior to her academic career, Ai Leen was an Audit and Assurance Partner at an international public accounting firm and later served as an Executive Director at ISCA. Her extensive industry and professional experience continue to enrich her teaching and curriculum development work.

Raymond Yeo
Raymond holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the National University of Singapore and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). An experienced Chief Financial Officer, he has held leadership roles in listed multinational corporations and government agencies across various fast-paced sectors including technology, media & telecom, banking, manufacturing, trading (chemical, semiconductor) and tourism. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, budgeting and cost control, investor relations, M&As, debt financing and treasury management. In recognition of his accomplishments, Raymond was awarded CFO of the Year 2018 by CFO Innovation Asia, Questexasia.

Tay Kian Seng
Kian Seng holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and an alumni member of INSEAD. Kian Seng has strong technical competencies honed from the early days working in an international public accounting firm. This is complemented by a 30-year broad industry experience, having worked in the medical assistance sector and brewery industry, including 4 years based in the PRC. His diverse roles included stints as a Regional CFO, Regional Business Control and Partnering Manager, Project Management Director, Post-Acquisition Integration Manager. He is now pursuing his other passion, in teaching, as an Associate Lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Yeo Ai Ling
Ai Ling graduated with an MBA for Financial Managers and Finance Professionals with merit from Manchester Business School, UK and holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Tasmania, Australia. For more than 15 years now, she has been lecturing on Business and Accounting modules at diploma and undergraduate levels, as well as professional examinations such as the ACCA, CPA Australia and the Singapore CA. Through active engagement and a focused approach, she creates an effective learning environment for her students and has helped many students and prize-winners to achieve their goals.

Post-Diploma Certificate in Advanced Financial Reporting & Assurance
Advanced Financial Reporting (NP-AAFNRX)
Provides the knowledge of the Conceptual Framework and the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) to enable you to explain their application, including the treatment and disclosure of hedge accounting, demonstrating appropriate professional judgment.
Assurance (NP-AASRNX)
Equips you to be able to demonstrate how an auditor obtains an understanding of the entity, plans and performs audit procedures and more in accordance with the Singapore Standards on Auditing and Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
On-the-Job Training (OJT) 1 (NP-AOJT10)
The module encompasses on-the-job training in accounting, auditing or taxation under the supervision of an approved mentor in an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO). Full-time employment with an ATO to fulfil the required on-the-job training hours and minimum employment period are required in order to complete the module.
Post-Diploma Certificate in Financial Management & Accounting for Decision Making
Accounting for Decision Making (NP-AAFDMX)
Develops you with management accounting techniques for planning, control, and decision-making. Focuses on analysis of relevant information for decision-making by management.
Financial Management (NP-AFMNX)
Provides you with the knowledge and skills to manage the finance function of a business.
On-the-Job Training (OJT) 2 (NP-AOJT20)
