Course Objectives
This course equips participants with the knowledge and hands-on practice needed to systematically diagnose and solve problems in complex automotive hybrid vehicle systems. The course will focus on automotive hybrid system. This interactive course will provide opportunities to discuss the safe work practices in electricity, equip the fundamentals of electrical technologies, functions and operations of the automotive hybrid systems, electrical components and their inspections. Examples of systematic fault-finding will also be covered during the skills sessions.Automotive high voltage air-con system for hybrid vehicles, charging system for plug-in hybrid vehicle will also be covered during the course.
Course Description
-Have the basic electrical knowledge on DC and AC electricity.-Understand the safety precautions for working on for hybrid vehicle high voltage systems.
-Understand the functions and operations of high voltage battery for hybrid vehicle.
-Understand the functions and operations of hybrid vehicle motor and generator.
-Understand the functions and operations of hybrid vehicle electric converters.
-Understand the functions and operations of regenerative braking system for hybrid vehicle
-Understand the functions and operations of high voltage air-con system for hybrid vehicle
-Understand the hybrid vehicle power configurations and power management
-Carry out the service and diagnosis on hybrid systems such as battery, starter and generator, converters and air-con system
