About Course
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:a. Conduct a full battery of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) assessment using the proprietary FMS application for kids (i.e. 3 to 10 years old)
b. Create and manage FMS tests and parent-child database using Assessor Portal
c. Provide prompt feedback to parents (and others) with the use of auto-generated kids FMS assessment individual and group reports
d. Understand Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and holistic development principles when coaching young children (age 3 to 10 years old)
e. Apply class management principles with young children
f. Plan and implement multi-sport age-appropriate lesson plans
Course Description
A. Applied Research & the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Principles:Understand the research on & importance of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles.
B. Introduction of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) & the 17 FMS:
Understand the importance of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) and assess 17 FMS of children age 3 to 10 years old based on global norms.
C. The FMS Assessment Protocol:
Understand and implement the official protocol for conducting the FMS assessment that is supported by latest research studies.
D. Technology in FMS Assessment:
Assess the fundamental movement skills (FMS) with ease with the use of the world’s first techenabled FMS Assessment Portal & App, and the accompanying fully automated individualised Report Generation System.
E. Case Studies for FMS Assessment Application and Planning:
Design and implement FMS assessments based on a typical class of children and/or client-focused case studies using the FMS portal and App for deeper understanding.
F. Debrief Others on the Child’s FMS Results Using the FMS Assessment Reports:
Analyse and provide feedback to child, parents and others through the use of individual and group reports.
G. Kids Mind-Body Development Methodology:
Understand the essential components that provide complete mind-body development of children.
H. Multi-Sport Coaching Programme Planning:
Plan and design a year-long coaching programme based on the physical competency status of a typical class of children.
I. Multi-Sport Lesson Plans & their Implementation:
Implement lesson plans based on selected sports and the fundamental movement skills (FMS) needs of children.
J. End-of-course Assessment:
Competency-based assessment approach through the use of case studies and practical assignment

- Preferred but not required: National Coaching Accreditation Programme (NCAP) Certificate, SG Coach Certificate or its equivalent, PE or Sport Science diploma or degree

Refund and withdrawal policy
- Please note that a 100% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted more than or equal to 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that a 50% refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted less than 14 days before the course start date.
- Please note that no refund will be available if the withdrawal request is submitted on or after the course start date.
Remarks
(i) Course fees payable;
(ii) Assessment fees which are part of the course;
(iii) Certification fees which are part of the course; and
(iv) GST imposed on components supported for SFC use.
Penalty charges apply if you:
(i) are absent/no-show;
(ii) withdraw from a course within 14 days of the course start date;
(iii) fail to meet terms and conditions for funding eligibility.
SFC cannot be used to offset penalty charges imposed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
