Course Objectives

This 1 year course is designed for Facilities Management professionals from the Built Environment sector who want to learn how to manage and maintain properties applying the latest knowledge in environmental sustainability, green building management, cost effective property management solutions, fire safety management, workplace safety and risk management and building services technologies.

Course Description

Learners will learn the management and operation of the air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, water supply, gas supply and sanitary services, electrical power supply and lighting systems, vertical transportation systems with emphasis in environmental sustainability, smart FM technologies and strategies for optimizing cost-effectiveness.

Fire Safety Manager Accredited Training Institution (ATI) Certificate
Applied Property Management (NP-013609)
In this module, students will learn property management skills including management and maintenance of properties, general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, arrears management, incident management, tenancy agreements, contracts management, tendering & procurement process and, interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills. The management of strata titles, management of strata-titled properties will also be taught.
Building Services Management (NP-013610)
This module covers the management and operation of all the engineering systems that are installed in the built environment.
This will include the management and operation of the air-conditioning, lighting, elevator, electrical and water supply systems with emphasis in environmental sustainability and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
Fire Safety Management (NP-013611)
This module provides students with the knowledge on the roles of Fire Safety Manager. Topics include fire safety management, management of evacuation procedures for occupants in buildings and casualty management.
Green Building and Energy Management (NP-SGBEM)
In this module, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills in green building management and energy management, apply knowledge of landscape management in the development of green buildings. This includes study of Green Mark Scheme and its assessment process. The syllabus matches the requirement of Green Mark Associates qualification. Students will also acquire the necessary skills to analyse energy consumption pattern and perform energy audit.
Sustainable Facilities Management (NP-SSFM)
This module emphasises the role of facilities management (FM) practitioners in the upstream design processes to optimise building design for more efficient and cost-effective operation and maintenance activities. All major FM concepts and applications related to Sustainable Facilities Management, Life Cycle Costing, Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), Design for Maintainability (DfM), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), Smart Facilities Management, Total Facilities Management and Outcome-base Facilities Management Contract will be covered.
Workplace Health and Risk Management (NP-SWHRM)
This module focuses on workplace safety, hazards and risk management for different organizations and physical environment. Participants will learn to apply appropriate risk assessment and management techniques and hazard control measures.
